Toxicological expert opinion
The aim of toxicology is to analyse risks to human health, which can result from the exposure to noxious substances. It is important to assess any additional risk within the overall risk in everyday life.
The basis of a toxicological evaluation is an extensive literature research in national and international databases as well as in scientific publications. The reliability and significance of these data have to be assessed and weighted subsequently. The purpose of the evaluation is to identify test values and threshold values from which a recommendation for action can be derived for the customer.
The results of the toxicological evaluation are summarised in a written expert's report. It is important that the work is both scientifically proven and understandable even for the non-specialist. Scope and volume of the report depend on the specific needs of each customer. On the basis of the report the customer can estimate if there is an immediate need for action, if regulatory aspects are to be considered or if any authority reaction is to be anticipated.
