Drinking Water Analytics
We offer microbiological and chemical drinking water analysis in accordance with the current drinking water regulations. As a rule, the results of the microbiological hygiene tests are available within three to eleven days, depending on the parameters.
Among other things, the following parameters are examined here:
- Total bacterial count
- Coliform germs
- E. coli
- Legionella
We are certified samplers and work in our own laboratory as well as with accredited laboratories.
Obligatory examination according to § 14 TrinkwV
In addition to the obligation to notify the health authorities, the owners of rented apartment buildings are also obliged to inspect the drinking water for Legionella. Only large systems for DHW heating (hot water distribution systems with DHW heaters with a capacity of ≥ 400 l or a capacity of ≥ 3 l in each pipeline between the DHW heater and the respective water withdrawal point) are affected.
With regard to the inspection obligations it is essential that showers or other installations from which drinking water is sprayed are located in these facilities, as this is the only way to transmit Legionnaire’s disease (a serious and potentially fatal form of pneumonia) caused by Legionella.
The examination must always be carried out annually. However, if no Legionella contamination is detected in three consecutive years, the health authority can extend the testing interval. Suitable sampling points (e.g. taps or shower spray heads) must be kept available for the examination. Since the tenants' apartments must be entered for the sampling, they should be informed of the date in good time. A copy of the results must be sent to the health authority within two weeks of completion of the examination. In addition, the owner must keep the results for ten years.
